Some mystery sirens in Israel and Greenland

A while back I started a map of Greenland, and it’s been pretty much as complete as it will get for a while now, but there seem to be two types of mystery sirens that are very prevalent. I’ve also started a map of sirens in Israel, and I’ve already encountered a mystery siren that seems to be common. So far I’ve just been referring to them by an unofficial letter system.

This is one of the siren types in Greenland, and it’s the most common siren in Greenland. I’ve just been calling them “Mystery Siren Type A”:

To me it looks sort of similar to some of the German Elektror sirens.

Also common in Greenland is the “Mystery Siren Type B”. There seem to be both low tone and high tone ones.

I have no idea whatsoever as to what these could be.

In Israel, these things are somewhat common:

The 3 splayed legs look sort of similar to a Weltex siren, but the proportions don’t match. If anyone has any idea what any of these are, please tell me!

Can’t be, those have 2 louvers that are pointy, while the ones in Greenland have a single rounded cap, like an E57, but with the wrong proportions.

The internals look similar to an L241. Could be a custom job, or an export model that was changed by the exporter.

They don't at all. The stator looks quite off and the louvre up top is more rounded and that being the only louvre on the siren rather than having a cone louvre and a second louvre under it. This siren only has one louvre instead of two louvres like most Elektrors. Also most Elektrors such as L241s do not have eyebolts. Another thing to point out is that even if it was a custom job I doubt Elektror would do that themselves. I'm pretty sure this siren is made by another company that uses similar designs to Elektror to make rip-offs. Klaxon and British General Electric have been making sirens very similar to Elektrors. Theres many of these Elektror looking BGEs scattered all over Australia which I thought were actually Elektrors. I noticed when identifying BGE Elektor lookalikes they also have a very similar lower part design but have a completely different tag. But we wont talk about it these BGEs and Klaxons as its out of this topic. From the motor down, this siren looks almost like an Elektror but the stator, louvre and eyebolt look off and I'm not buying it.

Another thing to point out is that even if it was a custom job I doubt Elektror would do that themselves. I'm pretty sure this siren is made by another company that uses similar designs to Elektror to make rip-offs.

That's literally what I just said. And I meant that the municipality did the custom housing job.
You're right, that isn't an L241. But, it has quite a few similarities to an Elektror siren.
Like I said, this is probably an exported model that was exported by another company. Or, made with Elektror parts. Sort of like what Darley did. They bought parts/sirens from Federal and ACA, made their own sirens, and sold them.

Greenland is a part of the Kingdom of Denmark(their Whelens are similar and I would be surprised if they test on the same dates), do we know of any Danish siren companies that it could be from?

The only similarity I see between the siren in Greenland and an Elektror siren is the motor and base design. Everything else is completely different, especially the stator design.

It looks like a siren used by the Danish Defense. I’ve previously seen it in several military installations. I don’t know who has produced the siren, however DISA Industries A/S did produce the Danish sirens during WWII and The Cold War. The siren could resemble a mash up between the two, with the WWII cone and the larger Cold War stator-cage.

As shown in the pictures a small camp have at least two, which could indicate a small and more local siren. There could have been more than the pictured siren at the airfield, it was located above a hangar. I’ve seen the same siren at Vordingborg army base (again two sirens in each end of the older base area). Further more one of the military sirens is placed right next to a Cold War siren - just to confirm that the siren in question is and was not a part of the civil protection warning system.

It seems almost identical to the sirens at the military bases, motor style, junction box, shroud and screen all match except for the chopper size. I’d bet it’s by the same company DISA, now we just need to try and find the exact model.
