Getting sirens from a city

Hello, I am 15 and am starting to get into the hobby of siren collecting. I have found two sirens in my city that have been abandoned for about 35 to 50 years. One of them is on top of a abandoned building(public park) and the other is on top of a power pole. The one on top of the building is a old Carter or some other type of dual-tone siren, while I am not sure of the make or model of the one on top of the power pole. These have never been testing in the last 30 years and that is why I am hoping I can get them and restore them. At the end of the day, all I really want is to hear them run which would be really cool. I was hoping to get in contact with the city to see if there was a way for me to acquire these sirens. Is there a way I should go about trying to get them(legally)?

The best way is what you just stated. Get in contact with your local government and see if you can find the right person to talk to. Definitely imply your are a collector. Don't expect to get them for free, and prepare to offer to pay for all of the equipment fees to remove.

What types of sirens are they? Keep in mind that anything bigger than a Federal Model 2 isn't exactly easy to move around; they can be quite heavy! Prices should also be offered based on the siren and its condition. Best of luck!

2nd siren is a Federal Electric Model 2, possibly a FEDELCODE (FEDeral ELectric CODEd) though many FEDELCODES seem to have their coding system missing.

The 1st siren, I am not very sure if it's a Carter... I'd say it most likely is either a Federal Model/Type B or a Sterling M-5/M-10, it's hard to say given how the StreetView isn't clear enough to tell.
