Thanks again Tyler! Essentially the 3024H is just a more compact version of the original 6024 then, with the same driver count. This is quite interesting, as the siren closest to my house in Keolu Hills, Kailua appears to be a MOD3024H. Even the old county map has it labeled as “3024UV”. It replaced a green EOWS 612 that fell down during a wind storm about a decade ago. I always thought, for a little 3012 it sure seemed loud being over a half mile away. Having twice the wattage of a standard 3012, this explains why! Those yellow 3024H’s are only on big island sadly, they even have a yellow 6024 at the american savings bank in Kona too. Looks like I gotta start checking tags. Knowing this, I guarantee at least half of O’ahu’s 3012’s are actually 3024H’s.Tyler wrote: ↑Mon Dec 26, 2022 2:38 amFunny you mention this, because I was going to say something about it in your 1212 topic, but didn't bother because it wasn't relevant.
Federal Signal started building these in 2002 I think? Not 100% sure, it's been a while since I looked at it. Hawaii was a pretty big customer for them, almost exclusively purchasing 3024s from the time they started producing them to the very end when Federal discontinued it, which was likely at the same time the Modulator I series was discontinued. If you want proof of this, I'm not really joking in saying that you can visit any 3 celled Mod that was installed with a later MCP or UV and read the ID tag on the bottom of the siren head. The Mods that are that weird light yellow color around the island are all 3024s.

I don't doubt it at all really. I've suspected the same thing, but refrained from changing names on anything without 100% proof that each unit was or wasn't a 3024.
