Yeah I've wondered that as well. I do know that these in the Milwaukee photos were all made about the same time as mine (1952/3)
Yeah, I've noted that too. Seems like there were a few variations of the rotator covers. I'm sure there were more!
It might be a trick of the eye. I zoomed in on the picture of the Mobil Directo (aka the one that has MOBIL DIRECTO SIREX on it), and the X looked like an N. Very nice photos though!jerrylovessirens wrote: ↑Sun Jan 15, 2023 3:22 pmYeah, I've noted that too. Seems like there were a few variations of the rotator covers. I'm sure there were more!
Large Screened
Large Solid
Small Solid
Mine are the large Solid variety.
Seems to be that there were also different revisions to the engine weather shrouds, the ones that are removed during operation. Others appear to be full shrouds with MOBIL DIRECTO SIREX painted on. The one also shows an unpainted one as well. The ones in the factory lineup almost appear to say BIERSC & NIEDERMR SIREX, but it could be a trick of the eye
