Apparently San Bernardino has a Gas Mobil Directo

There's another gas Directo elsewhere in San Bernardino which also appears to be in good shape besides some minor surface rust, and that one has been sitting out in the sun for several decades with no tree cover. It appears that these were been maintained at least cosmetically for quite some time, perhaps as a historical display? Most other abandoned Directos of this age are looking far worse for wear.

I somehow knew about that one, but not the other. But still, thanks for the post! It does seem like it was very well maintained. Notice the paint can in the basket, it seems to have been repainted once.

Im confident that it is all original paint. Weather conditions in San Bernardino are very fair, and they do not experience any heavy moisture or constant rain, just the sun which explains the baked yellow. Most sirens in the inland empire and surrounding (for example San Bernardino, West Covina, Palm Springs) look very good condition-wise despite their age.
