How far away have you heard a siren?

A bit of an interesting question if I do say so myself, but what is the longest distance from which you heard a specific siren?

For example, the furthest I've heard a Thunderbolt from is 6.6 miles away.

A Vortex R4 from 9.3 miles away, 14V-B from 8 miles away, and 16V1T-B from roughly 7.5 miles away. Unfortunately, my cameras didn't pick up the Sentry sirens as well in those cases where I've heard them in the distance, but one did manage to pick up the Vortex.

I've heard a 2806 as far as 4.5 miles away. Unfortunate that Dominion decommissioned the North Anna sirens.

When the conditions are right I can hear the model 7 at Marseilles IL (my avatar picture) from my backyard in Ottawa about 8 miles away.

I can hear the town FD's STH-10 from about 4.5 miles away across hills and trees.

My county's sirens are always spaced where you can hear them pretty well anywhere you are, since they're all about 1-2 miles apart from each other. I've heard varying tone quality of modulators many times during bad storms.

I was recording the nooner Bullard in Rickreall when I heard the nooner in the next town over go off- Dallas, an STH about 4 miles away.

Probably around 7 miles away. It was a P-50, so I’m not surprised. Conditions were perfect too. Also, where did karma go? I haven’t been on for a good while.

Whelen WPS-2805 from 5.9 miles away, weird because its only about 93dB at 120FT.... Videos on my youtube, with the distance recording.

One ASC T128 from 4 miles away. They really pack a punch in terms of output.

In comparison, the 2001's near me can barely be heard from 2 miles away.
