Altha, FL mystery siren

Fri Jun 21, 2024 8:56 pm

Anyone know what in the world this speaker array is? I recall there being another one of these nearby Altha, and they are definitely sirens. They seem to resemble a tiny EOWS 115… https://maps.app.goo.gl/5iFSc9wm9Lq3A3gt8?g_st=ic

Doesn’t particularly look like a siren to me. Hard to tell from street view. I focus on mechanical sirens so I may be completely wrong.

It definitely looks like a small electronic siren of some sorts, possibly a homemade type? It doesn't seem likely to be that because of how professionally built it looks. It does seem to also have a controller and antennas on top of it, and it does seem to be installed around 2013. It kind of reminds me of a bunch those small electronic vehicle sirens but together, kind of like a Techtrol IntelliSiren.

It might just be another unknown brand of siren, just like the other 2 mystery sirens in the thread!

I'm probably the go-to person to learn about my city's siren history.
