Federal Electric - Question

Thu Jun 20, 2024 7:05 pm

I’m getting a Federal Signal Model 2 soon, and we don’t know the date. We know it was still in Pennington NJ in the 70s on a pole on Rt 31 at the traffic circle. But it’s marked “Federal Electric”. Based on that info does anyone have an age range?

Made before 1950 as that's when Federal Electric became Federal Enterprises.
Ripe old age of 26.
1950 Model A, 1979 AF Timer, 30 something ID tags, some other odds and ends
Registered Skywarn spotter as of 4/29/18

I don’t recall if a year was ever confirmed for when the Model 2 began production, but I’d guess it’s about early 1930s to 1948, as that was the year Federal Electric change its name to Federal Enterprises.
