Montrose, NY Huge mystery siren

Sun Jul 07, 2024 2:10 pm

I was watching videos on YouTube when I came across a short that caught my attention. He was touring the Model 2 on display on the ground, when he looked up at the roof of the Fire department. There was a massive looking what I want to say is a Darley Weatherproof Champion, but it's way too tall to be that. What's weirder is that there's already a Darley Model 5 with custom housing already on the roof (which that also looks like it is a Darley Weather proof Champion), and the mystery siren was installed sometime in 2023! I'm still probably freaking out about nothing, it might actually be really easy to figure out, but I'm doing this just to be sure!

Proud owner of a E.A Labs Sireane Jr, a Uniden radio scanner, and a Sure-Lites emergency light!

I'm probably the go-to person to learn about my city's siren history.

To me it looks a bit like a modified Darley Model 5/7, But from the Port Vents im Guessing it could have 12-15 ports atleast.
I officially own an ASC E-class as of 2024. I also own 3D printed mini sirens such as a 3T22, Cyclone 125, and Screamer.

I checked the dates on google maps and the bigger siren wasn't on the building in 2019, but in 2023 the Bigger Siren Was on the building. Im starting to think they are buying the sirens from a type of dealer that sells Modified Darley Model 2's Because of Darley model 2's having Thin Port holes. Im going to do a bit of research to find out a bit about this siren.

Both sirens are way too big for any Model 2 to be inside of. I'm still guessing the Darley Model 5/7 is a Weatherproof Champion, but I still have no idea what type of siren is as tall or as huge as the mystery siren.
