I have been told by the SWS workers themselves that for the sake of siren enthusiasts, the Hurricane is staying up. It will not entirely be part of the new system. However, it may test with the county and/or be used as a backup siren for whatever siren is mounted nearby it. In addition, I was even told they want to replace the dying blower with a Thunderbolt blower.clarksburg_1000t wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2024 2:03 amSorry this is off-topic but I would like to know one thing: Will the hurricane be coming down? I've heard some people say it won't but I want a solid answer.
I'm pretty sure they're keeping it in the new system. From what I've heard from videos and maps is that they changed the radio on the Hurricane so that it's now apart of the new system. ASC is also making sure that it will stay alive for as long as possible! (although it could be SWS that takes care of the Hurricane.)supermaximax wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2024 2:47 amI have been told by the SWS workers themselves that for the sake of siren enthusiasts, the Hurricane is staying up. SWS workers reading the chat, if anything I said is false then feel free to add corrections. I just go by what y'all told me
The Hurricanes definitely going to stay up for a pretty long time. One thing i wonder is if someone will buy the Hurricane and refurbish it do...Greenrid wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2024 11:43 amI'm pretty sure they're keeping it in the new system. I still might be incredibly wrong about this though, as I'm not a SWS worker. I don't even live in Wisconsin!
Not too sure about that one. If ASC or SWS are keeping it alive and how its radio was changed to be apart of Milwaukee's new system, it definitely isn't for sale. The blower may already be beyond repair, but I do at least hope it can be fixed enough to sound way better!JeroenTheEnthusiast wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2024 3:34 amThe Hurricanes definitely going to stay up for a pretty long time.
