Tucson’s system consisted of a mix of Thunderbolt 1000T’s and SD-10’s. That I know of there is one SD-10 still standing (painted dark gray to blend in with the nearby buildings) and all the rest were scrapped. About 12-14 years ago (?) I found a pile of some that had been discarded and started to disassemble a Thunderbolt for removal. I never finished the effort and regret it to this day. They are all long since gone.

I can still remember hearing the weekly test at 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays. They were controlled by dialing a number on an old rotary dial phone through a closed circuit. One number to activate, another to end the test. The phone was located at the city’s 911 communications center. It was still there as late as the early 90s. But by then tests had been discontinued for a long time after one test when the system did not respond to being stopped. You can imagine that got everyone’s attention!

One of the Tucson Thunderbolts was refurbished and is in operational condition at the Titan Missile Museum in Green Valley, AZ, about 30 minutes south of Tucson. Don’t know when or if they ever fire it up.

The Tucson Thunderbolt was only 1000s if I remember correctly not 1003
They fire it up at least once a month

I believe you forgot to enable access for others to view the map. When I opened the link, it requested that I needed permission.
Just a guy who lives in Lenawee County, MI ;)
