My fault, I was told it was in St. Petersburg by another user.Fletch wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2025 2:35 amI randomly looked at the Hurricane map and saw the location marked in St. Petersburg, FL. I have pretty good knowledge of past sirens in the Tampa Bay area having lived there and done some research.
St. Petersburg's system consisted entirely of T-Bolts. Most were building mounted.
Does anyone know where the pic came from? Says it was replaced by a Whelen. Now, there are a few possibilities. I suspect it might be one of the beach communities like Redington Shores.
EDIT: On second thought, this is probably a Crystal River nuclear plant siren.
Wait, these might have been different port ratios, the allertors or screamers did not produce 127DB, and some of ACA’s sirens did produce different DB outputs depending on its port ratio.Andresplazm wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 3:18 amThey had 3 smaller units
THE LARGEST IS THE HURRICANE (I think)
127 db is super close to 130 so probably different ports idk
