Does the shroud really direct the sound downward much? I thought it was sloped that way to better protect it from the weather.

Yes, those sirens were designed to be mounted on rooftops where the sound would bounce off the roof and be sent outwards. I've heard many say that Model 5s can be incredibly loud from underneath despite not being that loud from a distance. The low mount might actually work to its advantage, as the sound will bounce off the ground in all directions.

I don't know if this has been posted here before but we cant forget about the Amber thunderbolt (Its probably inactive because of the 16V1T-B next to it)

That thunderbolt still looks in decent condition to me which has me thinking is it a potential backup for the sentry? But yea it’s pretty low….
