Pretty sure the main siren is a 10 port Hor Siro Drone. Sounds very similar to the one in this video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ef8u6t6meBg I've also heard people say it could be a 10 port Carter vertical siren on 60 hz, but those were rare even in the UK, and I'm not sure there's much evidence that any were shipped to North America. It can't be a model 2, the windup is linear, so the siren heard has an induction motor. I'm not sure what the siren in the background at the end is, but I don't think it's a CLM, doesn't sound directional enough. This recording dates back to at least the mid 80s, but probably even earlier.
There were many CLM sirens that were omni-directional too. I'm sure you already knew that, but I'm just very, very certain that's a CLM siren at the end.
Yeah I'm well aware that there are omnidirectional CLMs, I've even had one as my profile picture on here for the last 10 years. I don't think that is what is heard in the recording though. It doesn't sound like a 92763CP (vertical omni CLM like in my profile picture), as they peak at a bit higher pitch. I do agree that it does sound a lot like a CLM 5263 (mailbox siren), but it seems extremely unlikely to me that it was recorded in Canada, so I'm thinking it is probably an American 10/12 siren. XT22 or something. Canada only used dual tone sirens for civil defense, so the main 10 port siren heard wouldn't be a Canadian Civil Defense siren. IIRC it was a nationwide standard that they all had to be dual tone. There were single tone fire sirens in Canada, but they were mainly various different 12 port Federal models and Model 2s. Although it sounds similar, the siren in the recording is definitely not a Model 2. I'm almost certain that the main siren heard is a 10 port HOR Siro Drone, as they sound pretty much, if not, identical to the recording. Same wind up, same wind down, same peak pitch. I highly doubt any of those ever made it to Canada, but they were very prevalent at the time in the US, and a few of the major US cities had them.
