Motorizing a hand crank siren.

Wed Mar 19, 2025 8:59 pm

Somewhat recently I got a hand crank siren as a present. I want to motorize it but I’m not sure how to go about this. Can anyone help? ( I took off the chopper and stator from the hand crank.) (shaft hole for the chopper is about 8mm.)

How did you get this apart? Mine looks like the stator and crank case are one cast piece.

It’s hard to figure out but I just twisted the stator off, like if it was a screw.

how get stator off:
stator is screw, turn the stator and pull it out.
how get rotor off:
bend the pin and pull it out, get coaster off, and twist the rotor, pull out. also there has 4 balancing rings.

I am trying to do the opposite. Put a Model L chopper on a Model G crank.
Call me a maniac, I'm aware of that

The rotor doesn't just come off. Yes, you have to pull a pin, but I had to force it off using pliers as leverage.
