Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

I just made this account since I had forgotten my old one, I'm in Harrison and it's thundering as of about 8:40 PM. I came here to post about one of the T-128s dying(?) unsure exactly what happened here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnQ8_C1_h78

I see that Hamilton County is part of a Tornado Warning right now. I am unfortunately out of town at the moment and not able to listen to the sirens. Anybody able to report anything?
Very strong rotation near Kings Island . I am by that area and in the basement. It's now by Waynesville and potentially on the ground.

Now it's by Caesar's Creek by Harveysburg. Strong rotation with a potential tornado on the ground.

Sounds like the batteries gave up entirely.

All of the sirens have a rectifier allowing the batteries to be charged on the grid. Those batteries have likely not been changed in a while.

Heard Mason's 2001-130's loud and clear last night. Couldn't hear the adjacent 2001-SRNB over them.

I took this week off of work and recorded the siren ambiance from my house today. Link to the thread, which has the video:

Apparently Warren County's system malfunctioned in Deerfield Township. None of the sirens worked. The EMA has been notified. It seems very odd, as all of the sirens are barely 20 years old.

This new book about the history of Finneytown was just released. Included are some old pictures of the Northern Hills Volunteer Fire Department. The picture of the old Galbraith Road station has a siren that someone should be able to identify since I’m not the best with sirens from the 1940s and prior. As for the other picture of the old Winton Road station, is that a siren on top of the station? A yellow P-15 was installed around that same spot in the 80s and was removed before the station was demolished in 2006, but I have a hard time being able to tell. I did find something from the Enquirer in the 70s though confirming that there was a siren on top of that station before the P-15.
