What siren is this?

Sun Oct 21, 2007 6:05 am

I keep thinking I've seen every siren out there until I come across something like this... I'm guessing this may be an ATI but i don't know.
Also note there is a bird nest in it.

From faint memory, I think it was made by American Signal a stone age ago.

One of the Alertronic series if I remember correctly?

:: Edit ::
I stand corrected. Whelen WS2000-R.

Its a Whelen WS-2000R. They're all over the St. Louis area, but I've never seen one in the wild anywhere else.

I guess that makes them a somewhat rare siren.

Here is a link to the video. It sounds a lot like a 2001 until it cuts out. http://www.jmarcoz.com/sirens/rockhill_mo2000R.wmv

2000Rs use 200-watt vehicle siren speakers and an analog tone generator.

Tjat is a Whelen 2000R/400R. Its a very old whelen siren.

Why did you bump an 11 year old thread that had already been solved?
