Dual Tone Banshee - Video

Someone beat me to geting a video of a banshee. It sounds just like the only in my hometown used to. When i can get over to Jeff County (With all of the banshees) i will try and get the single tone banshee. Anyway here is the video:

Sounds good...props to the kid who made it. I'm glad he's getting all of the cool sirens in Amarillo before the 2001's take over. (and believe me they are. Half of the 2t22's that used to be on the north side of town are now 2001-SRNB's)

Anyways, it's always great to hear something different. These are actually kind of common out in west Texas. I've seen several cities in Colorado with these too.

A video of an ACA Banshee? That's very rare and incredible, especially in alert mode.

Yeh, maybe cause it does'nt have a piece of sheetmetal covering the ports like a sd10 does,so the sound is'nt deflected.Plus it must have a really good power source 240v/480v to wind up to the higher pitch .Anyone else agree?

This weekend, I found an old packet of ACA siren literature. I see that the ACA Banshee, came in a 10 H.P. configuration, which used 230 or 460 volt three-phase power. I would have to believe that the siren in the video must be 460 volts.

I see that the Banshee was also available in a "DC" version as part of their "Performance Plus-Omni" package. It was available in dual or single tone models.

The SD-10 sounds slightly better than the Banshee in the video, IMO.
However, the Banshee is a better siren in terms of power.
