Toook this at work today. I was sitting on a train. I really like the colors on the pole. Im not quite sure what the lights are for just below the siren....

I think this belongs in the Main Siren Discussion forum and not the video one. That's a great picture, the lights are for the aircraft. All of the 2001s in KCMO i have seen are on metal poles, is this true? Have you seen any of their 2001s on Wood poles? JW

All the ones I have seen are just like the one above. One or two of them are the old "round backs" too, I might add.

Yeah, most are on metal poles [perfect lightning rod]. However hopefully i am not getting certain counties mixed about with saying that there's a few 2001s on wooden poles.

With the picture posted in original post, 2t22boy is quite correct with it. Night, those lights come on, usually flashing slowly or steady on. (OT: Pretty cool at night to come in on a jet liner to see all the lights) :)

the 2001s recently added for Three Mile Island are all on wooden poles. Most are replacing existing sirens, but some have been added in new locations, too.
