ATI in Arlington, VA?

Sat Dec 08, 2007 6:24 pm

What kind of siren is this? Sounds like an ATI. It has a few beeps, voice message in English and Spanish and then another few beeps.

According to the city's site, these are actually (and thankfully) Madahcom outdoor speaker sirens. They are essentially Hormann speakers with different control units.

Now that I think of it, these are most likely the type of sirens I heard when I was in DC this summer past. They tested while I was on the Mall, however it was voice only and said the usual, "This is a test of the outdoor warning system." To be honest, I just thought that they had some PA speakers set up somewhere because it was Independence Day weekend and they were getting ready for the big fireworks show.
He died.
