Sounds exactly like what some of our 2T22's here in Louisville used to do every day at noon. I don't know why they quit doing that here. That brings back great memories from when I was a kid. I remember hearing a 2T22 in the distance every day at noon in my grandma's yard. I don't ever remember our Thunderbolts doing a daily noon blast, but I know a fiew people who say they do.

WHen I was at a friend's house out in eastern LI, I had the pleasure of hearing his then hometown's 2T22 (Port Jefferson for those interested).

The noon whistle was a bit shorter, with the signal reaching full RPM cycle right before coasting down. IOW, the full blast was not sustained.
