The 2001 sounds a bit higher than normal? Usually it's around F but this one is almost F sharp..

Actually, most of the 2001's in my area sound at that pitch, and some of them are even higher pitched. I think that the pitch of a 2001 depends on the specific model, the supply of power it's getting, and a fiew other variables.

I would almost bet those Whelens are from Newton, Kansas. Wellington has a system of Whelens but i don't think they use voice on theirs.

I honestly did not think there were any Whelen sirens in Kansas. Too bad Newton, KS is quite the drive for me to get to. :(

I didn't think Kansas had any Whelens either, until I heard these. The person who filmed this was in a great location for a system recording. Those Whelens sound spooky together. It would be cool to hear a recording from that same location in stereo.

There are two Whelens in Sedgwick County, KS that I know of; one is by High Point Airport just east of Valley Center, and one is in Bentley next to the elementary school. Both are 4004s as far as I'm aware.
