These unknown sirens in Agawam, MA. They're scattered
around town on these telephone polls. This one doesn't even
have power going to it anymore. Unsure of the make/model.

One of the Springfield, MA. Mobil Directos. This one was
obviously painted over with blue paint. Located at the old
station 15.

The unknown siren is a Model 5 or 7.
Pyramid head walks into a bar... there are no survivors.

Seeing as you live in Riverside, you may find this interesting. East Providence had a CD siren system of Mobil Directos. There is a Mobil Directo in the Rumford section of East Providence. It may be the only one left of the system, theres a picture of another in an old local school yearbook but that school is long gone. That one must have covered central. As for Riverside, I would think one may have been on the old Riverside JHS now a library I think however I also heard there used to be one at Crescent Park. I really don't know though. Theres also an older Model 2 in central that I took a pic of, its on the archive. It was used for VFD back when EP had one.

Where in Rumford is this gem?

I haven't seen one there, I think it is gone. I'll look next time I am down there.

The one in Riverside is probably long gone. Its probably been gone since the fire that destroyed Crescent Park. As far as I know, theres only that one left in Rumford. The one in Rumford is on South Broadway near the new Rumford fire station and across from the old fire station. I think the building was once a large bakery, now it seems its under development for condos or something like that. If your wondering, I too live in East Providence so this system really interests me as well.

Richmond, MA's green siren.
I drove by the Richmond green 2T22 about 2 years ago. My girlfriend actually spotted it long before I did, and shouted "2T22!" with her father and step-mom in the car, who gave her a long hard WTF look. I had no idea there was a VFD below it. Have you gone up to Lee? At their FD which is acorss from the bus station, in a tower is the 1st and only T-beam I've ever seen in person. Next time you make it up that way, can you get a pic if it still there?

Ahh I drove by this today (of course the camera WAS with me... =) ). Still perched up overlooking all of Rumford. Ahhh if only they still used them once in a while.

Hmm. I am trying to think of this one. Their central station (which is across from a row of houses) has a fire whistle. It was tied to the old Gamewell box system which was unfortunatley removed 15 years ago.
I went to Lee Central elementary school for first grade just up the hill across from the fire station, and when the whistle would blow, man it was loud!

The South Lee station, I thought just had a regular siren. (Those common lantern shaped ones). I'll look next time I go up...

Are you sure it was Lee?

Yeah I remember going by one day and up until then I thought the only siren in EP was the old Model 2 on top of Station 4. I thought right after that there was a siren mounted on EPHS at one point, but EPHS was built in 1952. The old EPHS was the building in the old yearbook picture. After the current EPHS was built the old HS became Central JHS and would be until 1976 when the school dept sold it and it was bought and the entire building was renovated. Its still there but I think it became a elderly home. The siren probably has been gone since the renovation.

Again Massfiretrucks.com comes through with a good picture of the main station in Lee, Mass showing what appears to be a Thunderbeam in the bell tower!!!
