Dual Tone Model 2 during tornado Warning

Sun Jun 08, 2008 10:06 am

My Federal Dual toned Model 2 finally got to go for a real tornado warning. The siren is on top of the building I was standing by filming. The other siren heard is a P-50 2 miles away. 4.45pm 6-7-08 After the siren was done I left went to work and it poured till 10.00pm like about 7 inches. no more tornado's tho. But than there is Sunday so my 2 might go again.

I think I may be able to hear an Allertor there as well.

How many times did you activate your 2T for the warning?

Dude that is sick! I envy you. Do you own that property or did the property owner/manager let you put it up on top of the building.

You're lucky you not only OWN that siren, but, can use it for real warnings, too! Great video! :D

I didn't hear it in the video, but there's a pretty light-blue Allertor about a mile south of there.

That's awesome, Joe! I could barely hear the sirens where I was because of all the rain and wind and thunder when they set them off for this warning in Wauwatosa. Also, the shop I work at is in sort of a dead spot surrounded by hills so it doesn't get great siren coverage. Oddly enough, the only one I could hear was the P-50 at State Fair Park in West Allis, even though there were about 3 sirens closer. Did they sound an all-clear when this warning expired like they did on Friday afternoon?

Well, then they sounded a second time for the warning on Friday. Incidentally, they cancelled the warining about a minute after the sirens shut off for the second time. I remember from when I was a kid back in the early 1990's, they used to sound an all clear when warnings expired.

If you listen very closely through the headphones, you can hear something that sounds like an Allertor, but it's very, very faint.
