Hutchinson, KS TBolts, weird sounding 2001, and other 2001's

I liked the thunderbolt 1000. Is there any visible difference between the various 2001 models? (i.e. DC, SRN, SRN-B, 130, easy to tell the difference between a new 2001 and a roundback one! )

Early versions of the 2001 featured a round-back design with a Thunderbolt 1000 rotator mechanism:

The 2001-AC/2001-DC version featured a squared head with a Thunderbolt 1000 rotator mechanism:



The 2001-SRNA/2001-SRNB featured a cubed rotator mechanism:



The 2001-130 features a larger (rectangular head) compared to the square head of previous generations. It features the same cubed rotator mechanism:

Hopefully he still has the high resolution original, so that we can read the label. Otherwise, I'd think it was simply a "2001".

That and Jonesboro has 2001-DC's that have no battery back-up and run totally off AC power only. That 2001-DC I posted above was AC only.

Anybody notice how the pitch of the 2001 changes at 1:35 when the power goes out? Battery backup in action.

I just now noticed that, but the power goes out at 1:31, at 1:35 (When the pitch change appears) it appears as if the driver turns their headlights off...odd. Perhaps their audio and video are a bit off.

Also, from 2:25 to 2:32 you can see a poor bird trying to fly, but the wind is too strong and blows him away.
