Gil.....THOSE TWO SOUNDMASTERS WERE STILL IN CLINTON ON THE POLES AS OF JUNE 06, 2008......

If they removed them it had to be in the last 45 days.....Try again contacting the Clinton, WI Fire Chief or Village Clerk for Chief's phone number and ask about what the status is or was.....

Knowing how things work up there it would be a miracle if they were down and gone by now.......

Soundmaster Install

Thu Jul 31, 2008 10:35 pm

Gil.....Now you see the problem with E-Mails to people who know nothing about sirens.......they probably meant a NEW SIREN that replaced the Soundmaster.......That would most likely be the same with Clinton.....

You have to go to a source who is familiar .... FIND THE FIRE CHIEF IN EACH TOWN and ask him or the have him ask the OLDEST FIRE DEPARTMENT MEMBER.....

I would doubt that that Soundmaster was instal;led recently....

That SoundMaster was probably the town's first siren, back in the 1970's....

Good luck finding the Decot, Jerry! It was on top of the Police Dept. in the downtown area, last time I checked.

Soundmaster and Delavan Chief

Wed Aug 06, 2008 12:24 pm

I have contacted the Delavan, WI Police Chief who dealt with the outfit who recovered the ROCK COUNTY, WI sirens a couple years back..... He advised that company is NO LONGER IN BUSINESS.....however the guy's son is till soing a few things in the business and he will try and get you guys what information that can be obtained and advise me for posting here as a personal favor from an old friend....

I will advise anything I can as soon as I find out what can be found....meanwhile I still maintain there should be Soundmasters that can be spoken for in Clinton, WI - Taycheedah and Horicon etc in Wisconsin and Sutherland, NB also the 125DB in Gibbon, MN.........

Wow. Thanks for the information about that. I did not know that company that had all of those parts went out of business........

I didn't know Horicon, WI had a SoundMaster, either. I'll have to check in that area of Dodge county again, someday.

Soundmaster

Wed Aug 06, 2008 11:50 pm

FYI....From the Delavan Chief of Police........The outfit was "Action Electric" and the main man was Todd Summerfeldt.....but he is no longer directly involved......I was given 866-636-4020 as a phone number which I tried....it was answered as ACTION ELECTRIC by a female.....I did not attempt to converse and appologized for a wrong call......I would assume she might provide a lead for someone to follow up on....but I didn't want to kill the goose so to speak.....in case the outfit has been sold etc....

I will leave it up to whomever to try contact....apparently the number works nationally as I called from tennessee....

Please do not bother the Chief of Police in Delavan any longer....he has given us all the info he has.....and is using West Shore Sirens out of Allegan, MI now for any work he needs.....he sent along pictures of his
recent change of location for a Federal Model 7.....
