If you rotate the view, there's a FS 2001 right next to it. Must've replaced the SD10 recently
GOOD EYES, 10!
I hope the SD-10 is still there.
Was planning to see it on the way from a hospital meeting, but we.re called on a blood transport and went anotheroute.

Denver knows I am seeking a tornado siren so they hopefully have not scrapped it. They are keeping decommissioned sirens for parts.
When I get the chance I can go down there and see. I'll post a pic soon.
There is a thunderbolt siren in my head, it is always going off...

I would not waste the gas and generate pollution.
So what if it IS there?

The only way I will check is if I'm driving by.
But if driving emergent, I can't risk looking.

Still have not found the one supposedly near 6th and I-70.
Drove west on I-70 emergent to Vail, so could not look.
Return was after dark so could not see.

While driving emergent on I-70, I saw this Federal Signal Thunderbeam.
I should have had my eyes strictly on the road, but briefly noticed it.

Now have a view looking south of it on maps.live.com:

(View looking east is also OK.)

I never noticed until you mentioned it.

Finally went by on 11-14-2008. The SD-10 is still on her pole.
Would like to get there a 2nd Wednesday at 11 a.m. to see if both sound.

Here's a 5V in Las Animas used for fire calls. Located at the park/community center.

Excellent find! I've been through Las Animas before and I've never seen the Sentry pictured. Thanks for sharing.
Still close enough to a Fed Sig 550AT to drive out on test day: First Friday in May - 7PM!
As of April 15 2010, a certified NWS Skywarn Spotter.
