Can anyone please tell me what years the Sterling M siren was manufactured? We are refurbishing one for a storm siren for our city. Any help would be appreciated.
It looks like you're right. According to Sentry Siren (formerly Sterling), the M was first produced in the late 20s, and lasted up until the late 80s. Not sure about the exact years they started and finished, however.
Thank you very much. The last 2 digits on the serial number are 43. Don't know if that means anything or not, but everyones information does help. Thanks again.
Jasper, Missouri. It was used for fires and tornados for years before being replaced by a Sentury about 2 years ago. We took it down last week and are going to clean it and make some minor repairs and relocate it to another part of town for a tornado siren.
I have seen only one Sterling M. It is a 3hp three-phase model located in the town of Haven, to the northwest of here. It is connected to a 24V control line.
