Eric, your one siren is a Whelen 2000-R. I have seen several of these in St. Louis County, MO, though they are slowly being replaced.

The other siren with the heating lights underneath does have a 100% tell-tale Darley sign to it. The bottom-most piece's curvature looks exactly like that which I have seen on other Darley sirens. These are the ones that typically have a vertically-slotted, sheet metal housing and sometimes a horizonal W.S. Darley band around them.

The Cameron, MO siren definitely has to be a Sterling. The stator shrouds and (what's left of) the intake cones look exactly like those on other Sterlings, except scaled to the right size.

Any idea on what the port ratio is on that four rotor Sterling? I plan on recording it on statewide test day.

From the other pictures I have, it looks like a 1:1 ratio on there.

Something tells me that it is a Denver siren rather than a Sterling. I have never seen any Sterling with divided rotors. Only Federal, "Denver," and Erick had rotors like that, and Erick never made horizontal sirens as far as I know. I believe that these have either 20 or 22 ports on a low-RPM motor, so it should sound about the same pitch as a huge Model 2.

Are you referring to the STH-10 in the background or the cute little audible warning device in the back seat?

Thanks for the awesome up-close pic of the Federal Signal STH-10.

I assumed the siren atop the fire station would be involved with fire station-type duties, but now I'm wondering if the siren would also be used for severe weather? any ideas/guesses?
