Depends. Normally sirens run off of 240 volts 3 phase or 240 volts single phase. Some sirens can even run off of 480 volts 3 phase.

Depends. Normally sirens run off of 240 volts 3 phase or 240 volts single phase. Some sirens can even run off of 480 volts 3 phase.
Those CLMs run on a really strange voltage. They are 550 volts 3 phase.
I guess if you had 480 volts 3 phase you could have a transformer wound to step it up to 550. Maybe 550 is common in Canada still? Heck I don't know. :?

Drill out the rivets or grind the heads off.

I'm surprised these sirens are only 5 horsepower.

I think that 550 V was for heavy duty industrial-type machinery, so CLM sirens are meant to run off that.

Im not sure but i dont think so. But CLM industries made the siren so i think is just named after the makers.
