Question about the EOWS series...

Tue May 12, 2009 1:35 am

This is my first post! :D

So anyway, yeah. I was wondering if anyone knew about what every available plug-in tone was. Sorry if that's asking a lot, but I'm just curious about it.

Sorry if I seem n00bish.

The only two plug-in tones I know of was the Westminster chime and the Whoop signal. Here's an audio sample of both.

Whoop(audio only):http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fx5LbAMQbAg

You mean the tones that came standard with it?

So Alternate Wail wasn't a plug-in tone, then. :?

The EOWS series came with the following tones built-in:

-Alert (Steady)
-Attack (Wail)
-Steady High-Low
-Steady Pulse
-Wailing High-Low
-Wailing Pulse

It also came in extra tones, that were available in separate plug-in modules:

-Westminster Chime (8 step)
-Westminster Chime (16 step)
-Air Horn
-Temporal Whoop

I think there are more, but those are the ones that I know for sure they came with.

Ah.

Wait a minute. Alternate wail = Hi-Low Wail, correct?

So Siren1000T1's video of the EOWS had it doing a "corrupted" Hi-Lo Wail?

'Cause you'd think that it would wind down normally or something, like a T-Bolt.

Its an electronic siren so it's not like it's going to wind down all the way if that's what you mean. Most electronic sirens don't play tones that go under 200hz.
