siren talk - are we the only ones?

I first became interested in sirens at the age of 5 . I remember everyday the fire department would get the Model 5 going at noon . When I was in my teens I wondered what other cities had sirens well my question was answered when I was visiting my Aunt . She lived near a fire station and one day about noon time there siren came to life and that was loud. It went on attack mode . I went to that fire station and asked about it , they showed me where the siren was at and told me it was a Federal SD-10 . Now with the internet I did a searched for more sirens and I found several places with pictures and sound clips . And thats how I came across this place which is great and I am proud to be a part of . For a while before I found this message board I wondered how many people were interested in these loud sirens. Well my question was answered when I joined here.

I grew up with 1003s and 3T22s doing fairly liberal firecalls in the Summer months. I live in a state that has manufactured several world known sirens and a few oddballs. Plus a lot of our towns test really often. Having a few nerdy tendancies, I just became interested over time. I do have a likeness for things that are creepy. Creepy sounds, artistic choices in horror movies that might look creepy(even though they don't scare me now).

I started showing interest in sirens a about age 5 when my mom bought my family a pool pass at the fire department. When the 3t22 went off that scared the crap out of me. I went home and looked up sirens and that is when I discovered the Thunderbolt.

I really started getting interested when I was about 11. One day when I was home bored and tired of hearing my dad play the bass. So I went up to the computer and got on youtube and started to type in random things. I typed in "Storm Sirens" and can across Thunderbolt's and 2/3T22's and Whelens and Sentry's. In fact, here is my first ever siren video that I ever watched.

My interest has kept growing and eventually I found the siren board.
