ACA P-10 / P-15 Horsepower Rating

Sun Aug 16, 2009 3:46 am

I noticed in the ACA brochure that jkvernon posted (http://www.airraidsirens.com/forums/vie ... php?t=7079), the Penetrator 10 is listed as having a 15 horsepower motor. Wouldn't that make it a P-15? :? I thought the motor horsepower rating was the only way to identify if a siren is a P-10 or P-15. Can anyone clarify this for me?

I'm not sure on that one. It does seem like they would call it a P-15, but that is like ASC calling this T-135AC/DC a T-135 when it should technically be named a T-132 because it is a couple of decibels quieter.

I'm thinking that perhaps this could've been ACA trying to boost sales on the P-10? I mean, maybe they renamed it shortly after employing 15 HP motors on P-10s so that potential buyers would think that they had built a newer and more powerful siren.
