The video would have been better without those loud scanner tones..

Isn't that the same Thunderbolt in the "FAIL SIGN" picture where the Thunderbolt can be seen platform-mounted in the background?

Probably just needs new brushes, or the slip rings are dirty. The old Trunnel Thunderbolt here in Louisville sounded almost just like this one for nearly 20 years.

If this Thunderbolt had an unusually fast wind-down, that would be a more urgent problem, because that would mean that the bearings were probably getting ready to lock up. .

It's a collector ring problem. You can hear the pitch change as it rotates.
