Yeah, I was certain there was no 2001 at that MSD. I went by the Waterworks last Monday and saw the Tbolt as well. Remember back in may, council member Cole was concerned with the city's sirens, and wanted battery backups for the whole city, and according to the county EMA, none of the sirens have it, and that still seems to be true. So, there wouldn't be any 2001s in the entire city as of yet.

I do have a feeling that their new sirens will be 2001s, because it seems to me that the city's sirens have Federal instead of ASC RTU's on them, and Clayton said to me a few months back that the city will differ to the county.
I'm pretty sure the 2001 at Sutton and Kellogg is a City siren. It is at the very most eastern edge of the city limits.

I sincerely hope Cincinnati doesn't go with 2001s. As much as I will hate to see all the old sirens go, I will be quite ticked if they choose 2001s over T-128s.

The county claims that 2001 isn't a city siren. This old map down here claims Anderson has 8 sirens, and if I don't count the TBolt that used to be at Kellogg & Sutton(now a 2001) and the 2 T-128s in the township, I only count 7. That 2001 even has the ASC RTU on it, while it seems the city's sirens don't have them.

These are the Thunderbolts that seem to have inside blowers:

1. Mt Airy Tanks possibly?
2. Western Hills HS
3. Fire Station at Lilenthal & River
4. Park Place at Lytle possibly?
5. Cathage Fire Station possibly?
6. School at corner of Hackberry & De Sales
7. Avondale Fire Station
8. Fire Station on Prentice St between Whetsel Ave and Ward St
9. Corner of Madison & Ballard possibly?
10. School at corner of Mears & Cambridge
11. Waterworks Building
12. Police Station at Warsaw & Considine
13. Fire Station at Erie & Michigan
14. Building of Este Ave
15. GRI?
16. Silverton Municipal Building
17. Old school building at White & Fairmonut possibly? I believe this one was actually taken down, but I'm not sure.

Mt.Airy is not inside mounted. Clay the guy that works for Clayton told me that he worked on that siren a few times. He told me it has a 40' standpipe and the blower is mounted outside on one of the I beams for the tower structure.

Western Hills High School is indeed inside.

Others that are inside include:
Park Place @ Lytle (originally R.L. Polk Elementary School, which explains why there's a siren there)
Spring Grove Village fire station
Purcell-Marian High School
Building at 3213 Madison Road (formerly Al Naish Storage - don't remember what's there now)
Mt. Washington Elementary School
Madisonville fire station

Park Place Thunderbolt

Sat Sep 19, 2009 2:08 am

Months ago, on this fourm, there was a mention of the Thunderbolt on top of the Park Place Apartment Complex in downtown Cincinnati. My dad's sister and her husband (my Aunt and Uncle) have an apartment in that building and two years ago, they had Christmas Day Dinner. After dinner, they took us up to the roof to show us the magnificent view of the city and the Ohio River. Long story short I got to see the Thunderbolt close up. It was pretty neat.

Oh, so you are allowed to go on the roof! I wonder if anybody has ever been up there when it went off!

I think just residents and their guests are. That would suck if you were on the roof went it went off. On test days they probably close the roof off so nobody will go out there went it goes off.
