Nice find, this has got to be one of the best quality Thunderbolt videos yet. I love it.

I took that video. I used a tripod, a Sony HDR-HC9 1080i camcorder, and a bunch of tape. I edited and de-interlaced the video in Final Cut Pro, and posted it to YouTube. I have a map of the siren locations from the fire chief and a new one just came up at the C'Dale airport but sirens are tested only once a month here, and on the first Tuesday at 10:00AM at that:(.

Nice video. Always fun seeing small town sirens like that (I'm sort of familiar with that area as my mom has relatives near McLeansboro).

Carbondale is pretty big compared to the towns around it.
Just because you're offended, doesn't mean you're right.

I've never actually been there so I wouldn't know. The largest town I've been to in that area is Mt. Vernon.

Kinda eerie at 1:07 when the horn stops pointed square on at the camera.

I agree! It creeped me out too when I was recording. Sinse I'm homeschooled, I will try to get a whelen or a old CD siren next. I can do a Whelen that looks like a stack of dinner plates, a rotating whelen, another t-bolt on top of a coal plant, a siren that has horns all around if it even works or another siren from my city siren map.
(sorry nothing more discriptive then that for sirens right now, gotta go to bed).

Okay, got a Whelen recording! Same recording specs, haven't gone over the video yet but I'll edit and post soon!
