My town has a T-128?? Possible siren upgrade

Sat Oct 07, 2006 8:11 pm

As i was comming home from our trip in Ogle County, we were on I-90 in the western-most part of town, when i spotted a water tower. I looked under
it. Low and behold, a T-128 stands proudly under it. It was kind of
far away, but i could see that it was a T-128. I looked up at the water
which clearly read "Hoffman Estates". I was SHOCKED. My town has 3
ACA Allertors and 4 RM-130s.

Could this be the beginning of a possible siren upgrade?

I would seem ironic that Hoffman Estates would be replacing the majority of their system so late. I wouldn't want those Allertors and RM-130s to go. I surely wouldn't see a need in replacing the RM-130s, as your video showed the siren working very fine. Let's just hope that they are not going to be replacing any of the good sirens.
Also, was there a siren in that general location before the T-128? If not, they might just be increasing the profile of the system.

I'm pretty sure there was an RM-130 very very close to where the T-128 is.
I wonder what happened to it :?

Hoffman moved the Penetrator Plus DC (RM-130) down the road and installed the T-128 to cover the growth that has exploded there as a result of the Sears complex and new sub-divisions that have popped up.

We have installed all of Hoffman Estates sirens as well as many other communities throughout Northern Illinois.
