Soundmaster 125 siren found!

Hi all

I wanted to share what I think is a Soundmaster 125 siren with you:

(siren is mounted on the water tower)

This siren is located in Gibbon, MN and I think it is used in alert for weather warning. It might (and probably is) used in another signal for firecalls, considering Gibbon is a very small town.

I found this driving through southern Minnesota on the way to Thanksgiving in another town.

Could somebody please tell me if this is indeed a Soundmaster 125?

Also, I believe these can sound hi-lo, correct?

I am hoping to record the monthly test of this siren sometime this summer. I haven't heard a recording or test of this kind of siren before, but I'm sure they sound very cool.

Yes, it is a SoundMaster 125. Someone posted pictures of it a while ago.

Some sounded the fire signal, some didn't. A bit harder to tell on the 125s.

Every dual tone Soundmaster was 8-12 port. I've heard one in person back in 2008.

Does that mean it sounds like most allertors?

No. Most Allertors are 9/12. An 8/12 would sound like a Cyclone or a P-50/T-135.

This is correct. While there were a handful of 8/12 sirens made in England as well the famous Gents 8/10/12 triple-tone model, the overwhelming majority of British-made dual-tone sirens are 10/12 like the 2/3T22.

I don't think the Soundmaster 125 would sound much different than the 115.
