We have a "Drop" and a "Dish" in Denton County. (Neither have sirens)

I feel that Cut and Shoot, TX takes the cake.

Better than Cut and Run.

In northern and central California one can find towns called Rough and Ready, Challenge, Viola, Happy Camp, Igo, Ono, Weed, Hayfork, Deadwood, Volcano, Angels Camp, Shingletown, Manteca (Spanish for lard), Sawyers Bar, and of course, Calaveras (skulls) County.

Not only do the louvers look weird, but the intake and output openings look much more enclosed than those of a Federal vertical siren.

Could it be an early Grifco model, since they had an upright, Model 2-like siren?

You mean Lion King of China? No, I haven't seen a product on their site that looks like that. They don't have housings like that siren does.

I was down there early last week and managed to get a real good look at it up close.

It's not as new as I thought, it appears to have been repainted and I was unable to find any sort of identification tag, must have been removed during the repainting/restoration. Bugger.

I only took a couple of photos (as there really wasn't that much to see) and when I finish restoring my Lightroom library, I'll post it back here as I have photos scattered over numerous hard disks. I hate consolidation. Ugh.

The silver shed pictured in the Street View link is no longer, it is now a green shed and the siren itself that was sitting a-top it was no where to be seen. Going to presume that "Big Red" replaced it.

Unfortunately, my grandfather did pass away but am glad that he is finally at peace. Rest in Peace mate.
