Police/Firetruck siren

Today i was outside walking to into the school when i suddenly heard police and firetruck sirens. One of the sirens kinda did an alert then stopped. I was wondering what these tones mean... If you would like to hear it PM me your e-mail. I recorded it with my iPod and don't know how to save it on the computer.

How? I don't know how to save the recording on the computer. It's just an audio and not a video.
