This evening I swapped the single tone chopper out for a 4/5 port dual tone chopper. I couldn't get anything back from a couple of sources regarding a 5/6 chopper or mounting flange so I've decided to ..waste.. a 2T (as much as I really hated to) and just fabricate a mounting flange.
The swap really wasn't as hard as I thought. I simply tapped both armatures off of the 1000 chopper and the 2T chopper and switched them between each other. The Thunderbolt chopper motor armature I believe needs new bearings, as they seem like they don't have any grease left inside of the bearings and make a little noise (though quite inaudible). I'll take the chopper motor out again and swap bearings between the two, since the 2T had brand new bearings as well.
Below is a video of what is now my Thunderbolt 1000T sounding the Alert and Attack signals manually by the chopper only.
