i hate to say it but there's a point there, when it comes to siren systems, i'd rather have a new one. not to say that one is greater than the other. for example, grapevine got a brand new warning system of FS-2001's and 1 Eclipse8, plus a 7-cell modulator, even though their old outdoor wqrning system was just 30 years old, they chose a new one because of reliability in all situations, they get the job done, as they were recently tested not on normally scheduled testing day and worked.Allertor113 wrote:I dont hate any models of the 2001 series,I'm tired of all the bashing done to anything that poses a threat to any CD-era siren.the 2001 get its job done, its probably one of the best sirens currently available on the "siren market." Who cares if it doesn't sound as good as a Thunderbolt or a 2t22 but it gets the job done effectively. Would you rather have a 55 year old rusted out Thunderbolt, or a Brand new 2001-130 protecting your community?
we'll see who fails first Grapevine or Dallas as they got one too, though i don't care as long as it does it's job. Grapevine probably chose the FS-2001's because of budget, wew're not as rich as southlake, but maybe a little below that.EWS Rules wrote:" as they were recently tested not on normally scheduled testing day and worked."
All I can say to that.. Lucky it worked this time. The number of failure with that system is very high. It's only a matter of time it's going to fail.
