Making my own siren,tips?

Hey all,i really didn't know what forum to put it in but i decided this one,anyways,i plan on making my own Electric siren.I might buy some speakers from radio-shack since that's were people usally get them from.So,anyone got some tips for me? I do plan to mount it on a pole on my roof.

If you are building an electronic siren, I would advise against shopping at Radio Shack for anything. They sell inferior merchandise for a higher price, customer service is generally bad, and they are known for not honoring some of their warranties. You're better off looking online, and if you need electronic components, shop online at a reputable electronic parts company like Mouser or Digi-Key.
