My T-128 Project Uptdated 7/27/2011

Sun Feb 13, 2011 6:07 pm

I've decided that I'm going to probably take the T-128 from Norman, Ok! It is a DC powered unit and is still in good shape. I'm not sure when it will be coming down or anything yet (I haven't paid the full total yet) but I feel that it would be a fun/unique project to do. Though I will probably clean it up and then find a nice home where it can go back into service in a small town that really needs one. I will keep yall posted I'm excited for siren number 2!

Paint it yellow.

Or paint a flower on the center!

Good luck!
It will be great to see that T-128 end up in caring hands rather than the junk pile.

why are they replacing it already?

note: I'm assuming when you say "take" that you're not boosting the thing.

They are replacing it because Norman is in the process of replacing every siren in their system, and adding some too. The new sirens will be, correct me if I am wrong, Whelen 2910's with that 2906 at the High School.

That's correct they're changing systems completely. My guess is they're going to a different type of activation once the new systems totally in and they won't be replacing/changing the receivers in the old sirens

Has Robert Gift returned under another name?

You could also place it face down on a giant orange juicer, which would make it omnidirectional as well as fresh-squeezed. ;)

Seriously, is it a eight or nine port model?

I'm not sure what port version it is. I'll get the major details on it this week when i get all the stuff worked out on removal and pricing. its about 14 years old and was previously an AC unit till it was hit by lightening and had the motor and system replaced from AC to be a DC unit
