The "Official" Oklahoma Sirens Thread

Mon Apr 18, 2011 1:13 am

Sorry Hamilton County guys, kinda stole your idea. :P

Anyway, since there are a handful of board members in the Sooner State, I thought it would be neat to have a thread like Hamilton County completely for Oklahoma. Post any info you want on Oklahoma sirens, locations, maps, videos, anything. Hopefully this catches on as well as theirs did!

I will start off by posting every map I have of sirens in Oklahoma, with info on the town and type of sirens they have. I stayed up almost all night making some of these maps, so I hope you appreciate it. I guess I'll start small.

Good lord, if you can sleep through a warning in any of those towns you must be deaf or deceased.

Skiatook has a lot of 2t22s, would make a great ambience recording.

Because I'm not the best at map making, I guess I'll answer questions!

Oh yeah, especially in Moore or Cushing (forgot to put that one up) where there's a siren almost every block.

I was actually thinking about that earlier. It might sound like that old Purdue 2T22 ambiance recording.

That's actually a Model 2 double install. The model 2 is mounted to the pole the Banshee is mounted on.

"Oklahoma Sirens" sounds like the name of a high school or local college sports team.

Broken Arrow is ridiculous!

The siren ambiance from Cashion would be fun to hear though.

For some reason the phrase"waking the dead" comes to mind.

Sorry, meant to title Cushing instead of Cashion. I get those two mixed up a lot. Here's an ambiance of Cushing, if this is what you meant.
