Richmond, MI getting new sirens this week

I was talking with WSS and they stated that the sterlings are out and 2 Eclipse 8's are going in. They have had activation problems for some time now. Glad they are still staying mechanical for their towns sirens.

That's nice. You don't hear of many Eclipse installs in Michigan.

You don't hear about many Eclipse installs period. Usually if it's a new Federal siren going in, it's a 2001, regardless of what sirens the town may have had before.

WSS were at my house yesterday with that Eclipse siren on the trailer. Richland, Mi in Kalamazoo county just had a used Thunderbeam installed and I donated the use of my model 2 and a member of the fire department donated the use of his model 2T. Both sirens were up and running for "personal" use, but the township paid to have radio controllers installed to make them part of their system. We'll see how they all sound this Saturday.

I'm so happy that they are keeping the Thunderbeam. I really love those sirens.

I think we passed thru Richmond last December on the way to my Grandmother's, because I remember seeing what I thought might be a Thunderbeam, but we passed it too quickly to tell for sure.

It's cool they're getting something better than 2001s, though.

This is about RICHMOND, MI, in Macomb County

Richmond has never had a thunderbeam. But there is a Whelen siren somewhere over there that I heard from the fire station.
