the alarm heard is a Siemens U-MMT. I have one and yes it's among the loudest electronic alarms I have when set in either temporal code-3 horn or continuous horn as heard in the video. I believe they're rated 95-100db @ 10ft I'll dig out the paperwork and double check. The reason it has to be so loud is to comply with fire codes regarding alarm db level vs ambient noise level in the area of install.

I'll say this, nothing gets the heart pumping or your attention faster than the loud buzz of an AC vibratory horn, like a Federal Vibratone 350, IBM/Simplex 4030 series horn or an Edwards Adaptahorn.

I once heard these going off at a mall in arizona due to system problems. the video didn't do it justice imo! there's a great "bass" like component it didn't pick up.
chicks like sirens, too.

it must be the vibrations of the speed frequency of the beebs or warbles in a second. they have also a nice frequency cutof of the siren code. i think this piezo buzzers in there have a great sound.(when you put one outside and test it lol)

The horn in these isn't a piezo. It actually looks more like a small speaker element like would be used in a set of headphones.

Take a look at this closeup and you'll see what I mean. (It was shot with a phone camera so its out of focus but you can see the horn pretty well)

They definitely are loud, and they definitely get your attention, even in temporal code like the system this horn/strobe is part of.
