The Whelen WPS 2700 series is basically a more efficient version of the WPS 2800. Nice sound. I love the way that the last whoop is ended with a wind-down.

I like the long windowns of the older Whelens. It appears that over the last year Whelen has lowered the tone of their sirens even more to about 460 hz where it used to be 465hz during steady alert tone

I can tell those are 2700 casue i heard some 2700s in some parish in LA and the way they do that wail...

You do realize that that is only a picture with the sound added to it.

Much like the stunt that was pulled by that Vince Contraras guy who
put those fake videos on The Siren Archive.

I don't buy it.

He prolly only had a Recorder and not a Camcorder...and just used the pictures so he could put it on youtube...i do that for certain stuff.

You do understand that in most cases, model numbers increase as new technology advances? The 2700 came out before the 2800 series...and no, it wasn't more efficient. That is why the 2900 series came out.
