idk6000 actually is the one who got the siren removed and he's actually restoring it. Sometime soon I'm sure he'll have finished pics as well as a Youtube video up of it
Thats awesome. I wondered what it would be like during like when it was in use.

Are you putting it back in service? It would be good... We have alot of tornado warnings every year around here. Not too many tornadoes though.

Err, if its a Fedelcode, it has a damper. The damper allows it to create coded signals, hence Fedelcode. I don't see quite what you meant with that post, perhaps you can clarify?

Well, I own a Fedelcode and it has the holes cut for a damper but it doesn't have one. It's just a plain chopper

Interesting. Is it possible the damper was removed though? Does its housing fit the description of a fedelcode as well? (the lower louver being angled more than the cap on top)

I don't think so, the holes didn't have any threads in them so that says something.

Threads as in wear from bolts going through or actual threads that a bolt would screw in to? Based on the pics here, it looks like the damper attaches with nuts and bolts as well, not just bolts that thread into holes on the stator. I could be wrong though...

I mean the holes that are in the stator, there are no threads. Usually they had threads to hold the damper down.
