Car sized HP in a siren

I know it's already been done once with an older car engine (Chrysler Victory series: 180hp) but hypotheticly speaking do you think you could get a better hp rating if they put an even bigger hp engine inside a siren? I'm talking maybe a V8, V10, or even a V12?

You could make a compressed-air siren with such engines. Those types of sirens only require a simple rotor, so centrifugal fatigue would not be a problem.

That depends on the V12. I've heard V12s which sounded like V8s.

I'm talking like the engines they use in formula 1 race cars, those things sound like air raid sirens on wheels.

It's no use using a brute force approach on horsepower of the motor if you don't have a rotor and stator setup that can make use of all that energy. In other words, other things become the limiting factor. What I mean: if you put a zillion CFM of air through a siren, then at some point the rotor can only put out but so much air through the slots. If you can't put all the air through the slots, then a back pressure will build up which will resist the efforts of your mongo engine.

Everything has to be matched. If you don't, it's like having a brand-new computer with a 1980 hard drive. You have to balance every part of what ever it is you're trying to run, including a siren.
